The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the academic year 2009-10 with an intake of 60 seats. The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. The Department strives to stay on the edge of technological development and dissemination, as well as local and regional capacity building, through networking and resource sharing.

The Department of Civil Engineering, with its multifaceted faculty, continues to cultivate and maintain its strong links with the infrastructure industry, as well as academic and research institutions both within and outside the country. The department makes a call to action with the national slogans “Shelter for Everyone,” “Roads to Every Village,” “Water to Every Field,” “Eco- friendly Infrastructures,” and “Jobs to Every Hand.”

The department thus brings awareness amongst the students about the many and varied positions in the public and private sectors that are filled by Civil Engineers, from local authorities to government departments and from consulting engineering firms to giant international construction companies. By quietly shaping the career of the students and exploring the influence of civil engineers in shaping the world, the Department strives to make a dream come true – the progress of our tomorrow.
