VOCATIONAL TRAINING
 
Introduction:
The objective of the vocational training programmes of CIT is to build human resource capability, resulting in employability as well as entrepreneurship development across disadvantaged areas of the world. With this objective, CIT has been providing various short and medium term vocational training and skill building programmes in collaboration with various Departments of the Government of Odisha, Government of India and other likeminded organisations.
 
Mission Shakti Programme:
The government of Odisha has promoted many Self Help Groups as a part of its Mission Shakti programme. However, many of these self help groups lack employment opportunities or sufficient technical and managerial skills for enterprise-related activities. To address this problem, Employment Mission (Government of Orissa) embarked on an ambitious project of preparing a cadre of self employed Shakti Sahaykas who can guide/escort SHGs of their areas of operation on a self employment mode. The objective of the programme is to provide required technical and managerial skill which will be helpful in managing an enterprise.

This is a six month course including three months of field learning. Under this programme, CIT is providing training to more than 700 women of 18 districts of Odisha.
 
Skills for Employment in Apparel Manufacturing (SEAM) Programme:
The objective of this programme is to provide employable skill to people from Below poverty line in textile and apparel industry. CIT is implementing this MoRD programme in association with IL&FS. So far, CIT has successfully trained more than 400 people from different parts of Orissa and placed them with companies like Arvind Mills, Texport Industries Pvt. Ltd etc.
 
Vocational Training programmes under Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna(SGSY):
CIT is conducting various short term employable training programmes under Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna of MoRD in association with A&D Solaris. The courses under this programmes includes:
  1. Hardware and Networking
  2. Retail Management
  3. Front Office Management
  4. DTP
Till now CIT has successfully trained more than 400 candidates across different trades.
 
Rajiv Gandhi Udayami Mitra Yojna (RGUMY): 
Centurion Group of Institutes is not only providing employability training, but equally focused on entrepreneurship development. Centurion Group is a registered Udayami Mitra under Rajiv Gandhi Udayami Mitra Yojna of MoMSME. The objective is to provide handholding support and assistance to the potential first generation entrepreneurs, who have already successfully completed EDP/SDP/ESDP or vocational training from ITIs, through the selected lead agencies i.e. 'Udyami Mitras'. Assistance is provided in the establishment and management of the new enterprise, in dealing with various procedural and legal hurdles and in completion of various formalities required for setting up and running of the enterprise.
 
Modular Employable Skills:
CIT is registered as a vocational training provider (VTP) by the Ministry of Labour and Employment (Government of India) under the Skill Development Initiative Scheme, whereby we provide various short term employable training programmes across various sectors.
